A passionate performer, pianist, singer, conductor, chamber musician and a thoughtful teaching artist, Lourdes Berthin Siles was born in Oruro, Bolivia. She began her musical studies at the age of six with piano lessons at a school of music where her mother was the director and her first piano teacher. She comes from an artistic family: her father a poet and her mother a fine pianist.
Lourdes obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Voice and Piano in Washington D.C. with a scholarship based on academic achievement. She obtained her Master's degrees in Vocal Performance and Piano in Washington, D.C. with a full scholarship for academic and music talented students. After graduation, she spent several summers in Italy, France and England furthering her musical studies. Also, she obtained a Piano Performance Diploma and an Orchestral Conducting Diploma from the United Kingdom.
She is a recipient of the prestigious Who's Who Among American Students Award granted in the United States.
Lourdes was the national winner of the "Festival Nacional de la Canción Boliviana", the highest award given in Bolivia to a young woman performer. This provided her the opportunity to perform in concert halls and music festivals in different cities of Bolivia.
Lourdes performs as a singer, pianist and conductor in the Washington DC metropolitan area and abroad.
